About the Epson ET-2400 for Sublimation
The Epson ET-2400 is a low cost inkjet printer that was released in October 2022 and comes in black. It’s an Ecotank model so it is the easiest model to convert for sublimation (way easier than the WorkForce models).
It’s capable of printing up to 8.5 x 14-inches so if you want sublimation prints wider than 8.5 inches, then consider a Wide Format Epson To Convert For Sublimation.
When converting this Epson Ecotank 2400 to sublimation, be aware that you automatically lose the warranty and tech support that comes with this printer. But don’t let that deter you from converting it to sublimation because there’s a large community of sublimakers that you can get support from. And you can even contact us if you have need help troubleshooting.
If you want a printer that is a “true sublimation printer” that does not need to be converted, comes with tech support and warranty, consider the Epson F170 (see the review) or one of the Sawgrass Printers.

Steps on How to Convert the ET-2400
Converting the ET-2400 for sublimation is an easy process. All you have to do is follow Epson’s step-by-step process as illustrated in their printer setup guide that came with the printer.
For beginners, the process of converting an EcoTank printer is as simple as switching out the inkjet ink for sublimation ink. It may seem intimidating but it isn’t complicated at all.
The most important part of the setup process when converting your Epson ET-2400 to sublimation printing is to put away the set of ink that came with the printer! Take it away and hide it so you don’t mistakenly use the inkjet ink instead of sublimation ink.
1. Remove the blue tape
2. Fill the tanks with sublimation ink.
For this conversion, we used the Printer’s Jack Ink from Amazon. You can see the test prints from this converted printer are vibrant!
3. Charge the ink
This fills the ink lines with your sublimation ink. It takes about 11 minutes to do this.
4. Load your sublimation paper in the rear tray.
For our test, we used the Texprint DT Heavy sublimation paper but you can also use others such as A-Sub, Koala, and Printer’s Jack.
We did a head-to-head test on the different brands of sublimation paper to see what the best one is. Read What is the best sublimation paper so you can see for yourself how each brand performed in our test.
5. Download and install the drivers from Epson
Make sure you select the right version you need according to your computer type. Download and install the drivers then follow the computer screen through the rest of the set up process.
6. Connect your printer to your computer.
Use a USB printer cable to connect the converted ET-2400 printer to your computer. Even though it is capable of wifi printing, the lags in your wifi connection will cause your printer to stop printing your sublimation transfer.
7. Print your first test page
After the set up process, it will ask you to print a test page. This is the image you should see when you’ve successfully downloaded the right drivers and hooked it up correctly to your printer.
